With a three-year-old daughter at home I’ll be shopping (albeit last-minute) for some pretty Easter treats that aren’t all about chocolate this week.
Sure, there will be chocolate (likely a little treat from the new Mayfield Chocolates on level 1) but I love the idea that my little girl can start collecting some special keepsakes each Easter.
Pyjamas are a long-standing favourite of course. I think Grandma has that gift covered this year but there are some beautiful options at Kmart and David Jones.
I also love the idea of new traditions now that my daughter is old enough to understand the idea of special occasions. Here are some ideas for Easter traditions you may like to adopt in your family:
- An Easter egg hunt. Depending on the age of your child/ren, you can simply stash a few eggs around the garden, or leave clues for them to lead them on a trail to a big surprise
- Egg decorating. I’ll be getting out the glue and paint pens with my little one this Easter to decorate some eggs for brekky, but again depending on the age and interests of your kids you could look at tie-dying, stamping, egg blowing or paper mache
- If you’re looking to add a new favourite dish to your repertoire, chef Alastair McLeod has created a serious of delicious recipes using ingredients from Toowong Village retailers. Find them here.
Find plenty of inspiration for a beautiful Easter at Toowoong Village. Here are a few of my favourite little gift ideas:
