Hope bloomed at The Village
Thank You for Helping Us Grow the Tree of Hope & Gratitude 💜
Over the past month, something truly special took root at Toowong Village.
Our Tree of Hope & Gratitude, a life-sized Jacaranda tree filled with handwritten messages, became more than just a display. It became a symbol of support, strength, and solidarity for those impacted by cancer in our community and beyond.
From heartfelt messages of encouragement to touching notes of thanks, thousands of postcards were lovingly written by customers, local school groups, retailers, and even visitors from overseas (Yes, we even received a message from the United Kingdom!) 💌
Thanks to this overwhelming response, we are proud to share that Toowong Village reached our full donation commitment of $5,000 donated to The Wesley Hospital Choices Cancer Support Centre. These funds will directly support patients, families, and hospital staff through essential wellbeing services, counselling, and care at Wesley Choices.
But more than this, it’s the meaning behind each message that left a lasting impression. Every note written is a reminder that no one faces cancer alone and that kindness, when shared, can be a powerful force for healing.
💫 From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
To everyone who paused to write a message, encouraged a friend to participate, or simply stood for a moment under the tree. Your support made this possible. You’ve helped bring comfort and hope to people who need it most.
We’d also like to thank our retailers for getting involved and spreading the word, and our wonderful partners at Wesley Choices for the invaluable work they do every single day.
The tree may be gone for now, but the love it carried will live on – in every message delivered, and in the hearts of those who read them.
